Walk alongside our gentle Valais Blacknose sheep and enjoy a relaxed, guided sheep trek across our family farm in the foothills of the Cheviots.

A warm welcome at Kypie Farm
Valais Wanders is part of life here at Kypie Farm. We’ve been caring for our animals and welcoming visitors for years, and sheep trekking has grown naturally from that.
Our walks are calm, friendly, and suitable for most people - whether you’re visiting as a couple, a family, or on your own.
No experience is needed. Just comfortable shoes, a warm coat and a sense of curiosity.
We're near Ford & Etal, Northumberland, just a few miles from Wooler, Kelso and Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Meet the Flock
Each of our Valais sheep has their own personality, and getting to know them is part of the fun.
Looper
One of the foundation flock, twin-brother of Lollop and the natural flock leader, Looper loves to walk.
Lorelai
One of the foundation flock, daughter of Izzy and a real sweetheart. Older sister to Marmaduke and a real role model for her to look up to.
Lollop
One of the foundation flock, twin-brother to Looper. Lively and always ready for an adventure out on the hills. Snacks are never far from his mind!
Marmaduke
Cheeky, energetic and full of mischief, Marmaduke, sister of Lorelai, is new to the team for the 2026 season. She won't be ignored and loves a good old bum scratch!
Marvel
New to the flock in 2026, Marvel, a gentle giant and relative to Lollop and Looper takes it all in his stride and looks to possibly outgrow his older relatives!
Murphy
New to the flock in 2026. Brother to Maurice and super chilled about life. Always selfie ready and if you look carefully you're sure to see a smile!
Moss
New to the flock in 2026, Moss is Marvels brother and without a doubt, a real character and firm favourite with visitors.
Maurice
New to the flock in 2026. Murphys brother and the smallest of our flock, but what he lacks in stature, he makes up for in enthusiasm.
Inky Dinky
One of our original Valais Blacknose sheep. She is retired from trekking but is still in the breeding flock. Look out for her latest lambs, Nelly and Nardini in the trekking team in 2027!
Izzy
One of our original Valais Blacknose sheep. She is retired from trekking, but an awesome mother to a few of our current team. Izzy is super nosey and no pockets are safe! Her latest lamb, Noodles will be joining the team in 2027!
Jackpot
Our stock ram and perfect gentleman, Jackpot is one of the original members of the flock and father to Lorelai and Marmaduke.

About Kypie Farm
We are a 372 acre mixed arable and pedigree sheep farm in the rolling foothills of the Cheviots, we are incredibly fortunate to live and work in this stunning landscape.
We truly are a family run farm. David and Marlyn Mair moved to Kypie Farm 36 years ago when they were offered a farm tenancy on Ford & Etal Estate. David and his daughter, Anne, head up the team but are ably and frequently assisted by Marlyn, Anne’s husband Darren and their sons Henry and Ewan. Farming has been part of our family for many generations.
