VALAIS WANDERS
Sheep trekking experience in Northumberland

The Experience
Walk alongside our gentle Valais Blacknose sheep and enjoy a relaxed, guided sheep trek across our family farm in the foothills of the Cheviots.
Slow down, enjoy the views, and spend time with some very special sheep.
A warm welcome at Kypie Farm
Valais Wanders is part of life here at Kypie Farm. We’ve been caring for our animals and welcoming visitors for years, and sheep trekking has grown naturally from that.
Our walks are calm, friendly, and suitable for most people - whether you’re visiting as a couple, a family, or on your own.
No experience is needed. Just comfortable shoes, a warm coat and a sense of curiosity.
We're near Ford & Etal, Northumberland, just a few miles from Wooler, Kelso and Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Meet the Flock
Each of our Valais sheep has their own personality, and getting to know them is part of the fun.

About Kypie Farm
We are a 372 acre mixed arable and pedigree sheep farm in the rolling foothills of the Cheviots, we are incredibly fortunate to live and work in this stunning landscape.
We truly are a family run farm. David and Marlyn Mair moved to Kypie Farm 34 years ago when they were offered a farm tenancy on Ford & Etal Estate. David and his daughter, Anne, head up the team but are ably and frequently assisted by Marlyn, Anne’s husband Darren and their sons Henry and Ewan. Farming has been part of our family for many generations.
