Prepare for your trek
Arrival
Please arrive no earlier than 5-10 minutes before the experience. For safety reasons, please do not arrive before this, as farm machinery may be in operation. Your visit leader will greet you at the car park, please remain at your car until they arrive.
Late arrival
We can't guarantee your experience will go ahead if you arrive late. If you think you are going to arrive late, please contact Anne on 07712 114 525 to advise.
Parking
Please park only in the designated parking area to avoid causing unnecessary obstruction for farm traffic. For safety and security reasons, only persons participating in an experience should be "on farm". If someone provides you with a lift, please ask they wait somewhere locally and return at the time the session is due to end. We can advise about surrounding facilities.
Walking Ability
Our trekking experiences require a moderate level of physical fitness. You must be able to walk between 1-2 miles on uphill and uneven terrain. The walk is not difficult and will be taken at a leisurely pace. Please note that we do not allow wheelchairs or pushchairs on our treks.
Dogs
As we are a sheep farm and due to the nature of our experiences, no dogs are permitted on site.
Clothing
Dress for the outdoors, especially if it has been wet. We will we walking predominately off road through fields and tracks, please wear suitable sturdy, waterproof footwear. Umbrellas are not permitted. The experience will involve the handling of animals, so please no loose clothing. If you arrive with inappropriate clothing or footwear for the experience booked, we reserve the right to not allow you to handle the sheep or trek due for safety reasons. A refund will not be issued in these circumstances.
Following instructions
Participants of treks and experiences must be willing to listen and take instruction prior to handling the sheep and during the treks and experiences. If you are unable or unwilling to do so you will not be allowed to continue. A refund will not be issued in these circumstances.
Children and Spectators
Children must be a minimum age of 12 on the day they participate, to lead a sheep independently. Children under 12 must share a sheep with a paying adult. We cannot accept children under 16 years old on any option without an accompanying paying adult. Spectators are required to purchase a Spectator ticket.
